TUR W: Coach Akbaş shortens roster for Rio Qualifications to 15

The national team of Turkey is preparing in Ankara for the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games with shortened roster of 15 players.

Turkey have high hopes since they are hosts of the tournament which will be held in Ankara (January 4-9).

Before it sets off, Turkish national team will face Croatia (December 29) and Poland (December 31) in friendlies.

Turkey’s head coach Ferhat Akbaş decided to leave these 15 players from which he will cross out one player for the Qualifying Tournament:

Setters: Naz Aydemir Akyol (VakıfBank), Özge Kırdar Çemberci (Lokomotiv Baku/AZE); Middle blockers: Eda Erdem Dündar (Fenerbahçe), Kübra Akman (VakıfBank), Büşra Cansu (Eczacıbaşı), Bahar Toksoy Guidetti (Scandicci/ITA), Outside/opposite hitters: Gözde Kırdar (VakıfBank), Gözde Yılmaz (Busto/ITA), Güldeniz Önal (Galatasaray), Neriman Özsoy (Eczacıbaşı), Neslihan Demir Güler (Eczacıbaşı), Hande Baladın (Eczacıbaşı), Polen Uslupehlivan (Fenerbahçe); Liberos: Gizem Karadayı (Fenerbahçe), Merve Dalbeler (Fenerbahçe).
