One of the best Hungarian players at the moment continued his career in the Turkish Division 2.

Vegyész Röplabda Club Kazincbarcika and also Hungary National Team player Dávid Szabó signed one-year contract with Konya Büyükşehir Belediye Spor Kulübü who want to qualify for the Turkish top division.

A 26-year-old opposite hitter spent almost his entire professional career abroad. He started his journey at the age of 17 and played in Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Korea. He had most success in Italy where he took two trophies – in the CEV Cup and in the national Super Cup.

Last season Szabó became Hungarian vice champion with Vegyész. Besides him, three more players have left the club – Róbert Bene (Szolnoki Főiskola RKSI), Tamás Csányi (Fino Kaposvár SE) and László Lehóczky (retired).
