Dominican Republic defeated a stubborn young Cuba 3-1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-21, 25-18) to earn their second victory in Pool A. On the other side Canada battled to claim their second victory in defeating a resilient Trinidad and Tobago 25-23, 25-14, 26-24.
In the last match of Pool A in Day Two, hosts Mexico scored a stunning five-set victory over Peru 25-23, 16-25, 28-26, 21-25, 15-11.
