Unlike the first clash played on a traditional USA Volleyball Cup that it won after the tie-break, Brazilian side needed only three sets in a rerun held at the University of San Diego’s gymnasium.

It is worth mentioning that both teams performed with their second lineups.

Renan Buiatti had 17 points in Brazil, while Thomas Jaeschke had 11 in the USA.

There are two more matches in the series to be played, both in California – on Wednesday (August 26) in Los Angeles and Saturday (August 29) in Irvine.

The US team is using the USAV Cup to prepare for the FIVB World Cup in Japan (September 8-23), which is their first chance to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
