The International Volleyball Association has decided that the winning teams of the National Cups will no longer have the straight access to the Champions League but will have direct access to the CEV Cup.

These are the criteria for participation in the next CEV Cups:
1. Title winner: Champions League
2. Finalist: Champions League
3. Best classified in the regular season: Champions League
4. Next best ranked in the regular season: Challenge Cup
5. Cup winner: CEV Cup
