After they remained without American middle blocker Sareea Freeman, Regatas had to say goodbye to another member of the champions team that dethroned Universidad de San Martín de Porres in the LNSV (Liga Nacional Superior de Voleibol) after three years – the receiver Milagros Moy went to the league’s rivals Sporting Cristal. But, Regatas already found a replacement for her as a 25-year-old Karla Ortíz will go in the opposite direction. The 2010 FIVB World Championship participant with the Peruvian NT will return to the volleyball after a one-year break due to her pregnancy.
Another good news for Regata fans is that the second part of the U.S. middle blockers duo will stay in the club – a 28-year-old Ashley Benson is close to renewing the deal.
