Hebar Pazardzhik overcame Mladost Zagreb and progressed to the 2023 CEV Men’s Volleyball Champions League groups.
The Bulgarian champions, Hebar, qualified for the group stage of the CEV Champions League Volley 2023 | Men for the second year in a row. Camillo Placì’s players beat Croatia’s Mladost 3-1 (26-28, 25-20, 25-17, 25-10) on the road in a rematch of the 3rd Qualifying Round of the most prestigious European club tournament. Hebar lost the first set, then took the next two, which was quite enough for their progression to the main round given they prevailed 3-1 in the first leg.
Todor Aleksiev top-scored for the Bulgarians with 17 points. Nikolay Nikolov made 6 blocks and Italian Jacopo Massari 75% reception (12 digs, 42% excellent).
Hebar joined Portugal’s Sport Lisboa e Benfica as the other representatives of the qualifiers in the group stage.
