The 2022-23 season on the Polish Women’s Volleyball Championship courts has started as the titleholders, Grupa Azoty Chemik Police, smashed the young team of IŁ Capital Legionovia Legionowo.
Chemik defeated Legionovia on the road in three sets in the opening match of the 2022-23 TAURON Liga.
The home team did what they could, but they weren’t able to stand up to their rivals, who dominated and left Legionovia at single digits in the third set. The Legionowo side is composed of players with mainly second-division experience and those drawn from the youth team. Chemik, on the other hand, following fruitful offseason signings, has the ambition to defend the title. In their ranks, Serb Jovana Brakočević-Canzian was the top scorer with 14 points. The Brazilian international, Maira Cipriano, had a 73% reception (11 digs, 1 error, 55% perfect).
