Today, the decisive third matches of two quarterfinal series in the men’s Russian volleyball championship took place.
Lokomotiv Novosibirsk emerged victorious with a 3-0 win over Belogorie on their home court, securing their place in the top four for the fourth consecutive season. In another quarterfinal match, Zenit St. Petersburg defeated Dynamo-LO in straight sets, with Matthew Anderson scoring 17 points (67% in attack) and Viktor Poletaev added 16 for winning side (75% attack). Egor Klyuka missed the match due to an injury.
The semifinalists of the championship have now been determined, with the top four teams from the regular season advancing to the next round. Zenit Kazan and Dynamo Moscow won their series 2-0, while Zenit St. Petersburg and Lokomotiv Novosibirsk secured their spots with wins in the third matches. The semifinals will be played in a best-of-five format.
