In the semifinals of the Women’s Volleyball tournament at the 2023 San Salvador Central American and Caribbean Games, exciting matchups are set to take place. Colombia will go head-to-head against Puerto Rico, while the Dominican Republic will face off against Cuba in the other semifinal clash.
Colombia secured their spot in the semifinals by defeating El Salvador with a dominant 3-0 victory (25-6, 25-11, 25-5) at the Sports Palace Carlos El Famoso Hernández. They finished at the top of Pool B with an unbeaten record of 3-0, earning them a matchup against Puerto Rico, who finished second in Pool A.
On the other hand, Cuba strengthened their position in Pool B by defeating Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-17), improving their overall record to 2-1. This victory propelled them into the semifinals, where they will now face the defending champions, the Dominican Republic.
Speaking of the Dominican Republic, they showcased their skills in Pool A and emerged as the winners by defeating Puerto Rico 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21). With an undefeated record of 3-0, the Dominican Republic secured the top spot in their pool, setting up an exciting semifinal clash against Cuba.
