The day kicked off with an intense quarterfinal match between the United States and France. After a nail-biting five-set thriller, the Americans pulled off a hard-fought 3-2 victory (25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 24-26, 15-9), bouncing back from a two-set lead loss to ensure their spot in the semifinals. Matt Anderson, with a game-leading 22 points, and Thomas Jaeschke, contributing 16 points, were instrumental in the United States’ victory. Jean Patry was the standout performer for France, notching 17 points, supported by Bartélémy Chinenyeze and Nicolas Le Goff, who added 16 and 14 points respectively.
On the other side, Italy demonstrated a dominant performance against Argentina, ensuring their place in the semifinals and edging closer to their first VNL title. The Italians overpowered the Argentineans with a convincing 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-13, 25-14) in the quarterfinals. Alessandro Michieletto spearheaded Italy’s commanding display with a 15-point contribution.
