The All-Turkish face-off between the home side of Eczacıbaşı and Fenerbahçe in Pool A ended with the tie-break in front of 4,500 spectators to make a spectacular opening of the 2020 CEV Women’s Volleyball Champions League pool stage. The Brazilian Natália Pereira highlighted for Eczacıbaşı with 26 points (4 kill blocks), pushing her side toward 3-2 (25-23, 25-18, 23-25, 22-25, 15-10) win.
Fenerbahçe failed to completely turn around the match into their favor after being two sets down. Thanks to Cuban Melissa Vargas (23 points), the “Yellow Angels” tied at 2-2 in sets but experienced the same fate as less than a month ago when they faced the same rivals in the national championship.
