JPN W: Ferhat Akbas leaves coaching staff of women’s Japanese national team

The Turkish-born coach Ferhat Akbas has decided to step down from the assistant coach position of the women’s Japanese national team.

Because of the very busy calendar of FIVB National Team Season and  CEV Club Volleyball season, I had to make a very hard decision. The choice was between “working both for a Club Team and a national team at the same time” or “staying always in Japan till the end of Olympic Games” which means staying Japan for 16 months. Even if I gave my %100 effort for the success of Team Japan last 2 years;  for my future, for my professional career, for my life, I couldn’t choose to stay in Japan only for #TeamJapan and #Olympicgames.  After having very good results and times last 2 years, I would like to say goodbye to all Japanese volleyball fans, players, the Japan Volleyball Association, all my friends in Japan. I will never forget the great memories. It was an honor for me to carry the Japanese flag on my chest. One day, I will be back! Hope to see you all,“ says Akbas.

Akbas is currently coaching Romania’s champions C.S.M. BUCURESTI who are making this season their maiden appearance in the elite CEV Volleyball Champions League.

What is your opinion about that videocheck at 12/11 - 13/11 ??
It seems to me that there is no block touch at all by the way… I was not against Kazan but I had never seen such a quick decision about a controversial challenge.

CL W: Imoco beat the odds! Italian side victorious in golden set to eliminate Eczacıbaşı

Can someone explain us why Boskovic didn’t play yesterday?
I really can’t find any excuse for this decision.
He could start the game with Boskovic, take the first two sets and then change her.
However, congratulations to Imoco! Reply
