Week 2 of the 2021 US Women’s pro volleyball league started with wins of Team De La Cruz and Team Larson.

Even though she excelled in the first match of Week 2 of the 2021 Women’s Athletes Unlimited Volleyball, Karsta Lowe couldn’t help the team in which she serves as a captain, Team Lowe (Orange), achieve victory over Team De La Cruz (Purple). She made 23 kills on 44 attempts and added 15 digs for 75 stat points. Lowe collected 335 overall points and was named MVP 1. She remained 2nd on the leaderboard with 1,210 points.

Team De La Cruz celebrated the victory of 73-67 (2-1: 25-23, 23-25, 25-19) mostly thanks to Deja McClendon (17 kills on 33 attempts), who collected 353 points in total and MVP 2 award. The no.1 pick in Week 2 Draft, Ebony Nwanebu, earned 315 points overall (MVP 3) for the winning team.

Team Larson (Gold) achieved a narrow victory against Team Edmond (Blue) of 70-69 even though they lost in sets by a 1-2 (22-25, 25-19, 23-25). Despite the fact that her overall point balance wasn’t the highest in the match, Willow Johnson earned the MVP 1 award. The young opposite hitter had 19 kills on 47 attempts, 5 digs, and 2 blocks for 292 total for Team Larson.

Her captain and MVP 2 Jordan Larson actually had the most total points - 302. She remained the leader on the leaderboard with 1,323 total points. The third MVP award went into the hands of Molly McCage from Team Edmond. She made an error-free attacking display of 10 kills on 14 attempts (71.4 %), snatching the MVP 3 honors in front of the Team Larson setter Samantha Seliger-Swenson, who had as many as 41 assists and 223 points in total.

ITA M: Perugia focused on bringing Grbić

He signed a 2-years contract with Zaksa last year. He won Polish Cup with them, not sure what happened so Zaksa lost the championship. They kicked out Lube and Zenit from the Champions League and have a good chance of becoming European champion although Trentino didn't win anything this year so this is their last chance.
He started his coaching career with Perugia so everything is possible... Reply

USA M: Russell undergoes surgery in US, will miss Tokyo Olympics

Russell had one of the best sports surgeons in the world work on him so I expect he will be in great hands. While devastating for any athlete Russell is young enough to have both Paris and Los Angeles in his Olympic future at very high level.
Piacenza is building something very special there and Russell is a perfect type of player and professional to attract others to come there and build around.
Wishing him a full and speedy recovery. Reply
