The Serie A1 volleyball weekend was packed with good and interesting volleyball. Chieri ’76 finally broke their streak at Palazzo Wanny, defeating Firenze 3-1 for their first-ever victory in the venue. Malual of Firenze emerged as the top scorer of the match with 18 points, while Baijens provided solid support for the hosts with 15 points. On the winning Chieri side, Loveth Omoruyi spearheaded the attack with 14 points, closely followed by Lucille Gicquel with 13 points and Anne Buijs contributing 12 points. Meanwhile, Cuneo dominated their clash against Pinerolo, sweeping them aside 3-0 with Ana Bjelica contributing 15 points.
Conegliano had their hands full with a feisty Roma side but managed a hard-fought 3-1 victory. MVP Lanier’s 17 points, combined with Chirichella’s clutch plays, kept the reigning champions on top. Bergamo enjoyed a commanding 3-0 win over Talmassons, with Ailama Cesé Montalvo proving unstoppable with 20 points.
Busto Arsizio and Vallefoglia went head-to-head in a tense battle at the E-Work Arena. The match ended 3-1 in favor of Busto. It was a much-needed victory for the team after two consecutive losses.
The weekend’s crown jewel was Novara’s nail-biting 3-2 win over Milano. In front of nearly 4,000 fans, Novara’s Tatiana Tolok lit up the court with 27 points, while Milano’s Paola Egonu showcased her brilliance with 29 points. Despite their efforts, Milano fell short in a match that stretched over two hours of gripping volleyball.
