Santarelli
Imoco trusted the squad in 2017/2018 to Mazzanti’s assistant in previous two seasons, Daniele Santarelli. Mazzanti will work with Italian Women’s National Team, which was known from earlier.
A 35-year-old former libero (mostly in the teams in Italian Division 2) started his coaching career in youth categories before becoming an assistant in several Women’s teams like myCicero Pesaro and Robur Tiboni Urbino.
Santarelli came to Imoco in 2014/2015, winning national title already in his first season there, also as an assistant, which was a role he performed until now.
Interestingly, for the third season in a row, Imoco Volley will have a coach and player that are spouses. Libero Monica De Gennaro will become Santarelli’s wife in June, and continue “tradition” that Davide Mazzanti and Serena Ortolani established.
