Sir Safety Conad Perugia
Perugia, who have been rising to the powerhouse level of the Italian Men’s volleyball in the last few years, finally won their first-ever title – the national Supercup. And they did it over the reigning Serie A1 champions Cucine Lube Civitanova, 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-17, 28-26).
Thanks to superior blocking display (14 kill blocks) and lethal attack (56%), which went up to more than 60% in the first set when Perugia’s climbing to the trophy begun, Lorenzo Bernardi’s side silenced the crowd in “Eurosole Forum”, which was mostly consisted of Lube‘s fans, where the Final Four of the 2017 Del Monte Supercoppa was held.
The American Aaron Russell (named for the MVP), topped Perugia with 21 points, while Serbian Marko Podraščanin contributed with 6 kill blocks. In Lube, the Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov made 20 points.

Finally! Aaron the MVP well deserved and Ivan the warrior zar! Colaci a guardian deity! Everyone played good but the three were outstanding during crisis.
With out Atanasijevic and Podrascanin Perugia will not be even in final. Yes, Russel played good, finally, but the best player of Super Cup was Magnum Atanasijevic.
Re: @Bax Lol you’re crazy even thinking that. Atanasijevic almost lost the match because he always choke during important matches. In fact Perugia can be stronger without Atanasijevic if Zaytsev returns as an opposite and you cast another world class OH as diagonal for Russell.
Atanasijevic stats casts different picture. He was the best scorer of Italian league few years in the row until his injury
