Poland opened first set with 10-5 scoring run. After Grbic’s time-out, Serbian side started playing with some new energy, and believe it or not, they managed to tie the score, 10-10!

Again, Antiga’s team created new scoring run 15-11, Serbia tied 15-15! At the end of the set, with some stunning serves and good reactions by Uros Kovacevic, Serbia got first set point! Kubiak sent ball wide, Atanasijevic & co. started celebrating.

At the beginning of the second set, we saw the same start of Polish team like in the first set. But now, they didn’t allow opponent to come closer and afterwards they clinched the set to tie the score in sets 1-1!

What could we say about the other two sets but not to mention one name – Bartosz Kurek. He simply was unstoppable in decisive moments, especially in the third set! All balls went to Kurek and he just put them into the right place.

Serbia didn’t have any solution for Kurek and they will have to wait for the next game. Polandhave made huge step forward to the semis.

Kurek ended match with 26, while Atanasijevic had the same number of points on the other side.

Of course I agree that Kurek was great and this victory is largely his merit, but Atanasijevic played same good as Kurek, he also was magic (If Poland lost that match, you would write the same about Atanasijevic ). In battle of Opposites was draw and Poland won this mach thanks to excellent reception by Zatorski&Kubiak and … 3000 Polish fans, who supported them all the time. 🙂
