Many fans wondered why Kurek played only two games for Ziraat Bankası, although the ongoing season in Turkey started in mid-September 2017. His manager gave an explanation to Przegląd Sportowy.

Poland national team player has been rehabilitating from a foot injury, with which he has struggled from the beginning of the season, in his home country since the end of December. Last weekend, Kurek returned to Turkey, where he will continue working under the supervision of a local doctor and physiotherapists, from which he has not yet received the green light to compete. So, it is still unknown when will Kurek return to the court.

“Nobody has declared any date. Every few days, a research is done to check the condition of the foot. On the part of the club, Kurek has full support and understanding, and everyone is eagerly awaiting his return to the training,” said Jakub Michalak, the manager of the player.

In the meantime, Kurek’s replacement Miloš Nikić suffered an injury that will sideline him until the end of the season, while the Montenegrin Vojin Ćaćić, another outside hitter, has only 50% functionality of his shoulder.

Thus, Ziraat had to react in the transfer market once again and hired an Italy national team member.

Re: @Domald The problem is the club that gives him big contracts and presents him as big potential for the club. Only I can say: congtarulations to his manager who manages to find him stupid clubs that want him!!! And just to remember you the period when he signed for Japan team and he returned before he departed… No words also for his private life….
