Polish Championship title, second place in the CEV Champions League, the role of the fans' favorite... Marko Ivović had a simply perfect season in Asseco Resovia. However, he felt that it was time to move on. After the end of the season, Serbian receiver received an offer from Belogorie which every player would have accepted.

Marko Ivović gave an interview for WorldofVolley in which he has spoken about the decision to move from Asseco Resovia to Belogorie.

“Since I came to Vojvodina six years ago, I have wanted to go only forward. That wish to push ahead was eventually decisive when Belogorie sent an offer. Financial motives were not my primary concern, and I have to admit that I was annoyed by those stories about money. Everyone close to me knows pretty well how difficult was it for me to make the final decision” said Ivović and then continued.

“I really wanted to stay in Resovia. Whoever is in volleyball understands what Asseco Resovia represents in this sport. It is one of the best organized clubs in Europe, with simply fantastic fans… I get chills every time I speak about them. That kind of things you can’t forget and they stay with you for the whole life. That is why I hope that one day I will return to Resovia just to feel that atmosphere once again.”

Still, Ivović emphasized that it is always important to look only ahead, and that he is eager to start the episode in Belogorie.

Belgorie is one of the best teams in the world, which wants to win every single trophy. When I received an offer I was literally shocked. I like to think that my effort has paid off. I was going step by step, Vojvodina, Maliye Piyango, Paris, Resovia and now Belogorie. I am glad for being part of that kind of club and hopefully everything will be great in the next season.”
