Players’ initiative: They want a meeting with the FIVB

by WoV

According to the Italian media, it seems that the players, but not the leagues and federations, have decided to do something about the issues that have been hitting volleyball community over the past 20 years: calendar, the format of the competitions, number of the competitions during one year.

The players have sent the letter asking for a meeting with the FIVB and it seems they managed to make it, which was not the case with many federations and leagues so far.

It is still unknown whether clubs as employers of the players with the official contracts and leagues as the organizers of the national championship will be invited to attend the meeting because these issues are directly related to them and they should be invited to this meeting.

Hopefully, the idea of the players is not to take any radical measures but also that the FIVB does not intend to make the things more difficult for the players using ITC, because they are trying to find the answers for the important questions with the concrete intention to finally change something.

It’s a great opportunity to get many problems out of sight with constructive suggestions in order to find a solution acceptable for all stakeholders.

We are waiting for the outcome of this whole situation…
