The beach volleyball players of Zagreb’s KOP Siget are leading the table after playing the first four rounds of the 1st Croatian beach volleyball league, seven points from three victories and one draw. As many as four teams, KOP Žnjan from Split, Pula HAOK Žal Banjole, KOP Čakovec and KOP Jarun from Zagreb have five points each. Osijek’s KOP Retfala with four points is almost behind the leading five, followed by KOP Opatija and AOK Osijek in the last two places.
Due to the great heat and steam, but on the fantastically prepared courts of KOP Vrapče, eight women’s first league clubs fought for the first points of this season, as well as their colleagues in the men’s first beach volleyball league.
In male competition, part of them played three, and part played four rounds, and KOP Opatija is in the lead with three victories and one draw. They are followed by KOP Siget with six points, ie two wins and two draws. KOP Retfala, KOP Umag, HAOK Žal Banjole, KOP Žnjan and KOP Zagreb are still playing in the male’ league this season.
The first part of the championship in both competitions in three weeks will move to Podstrana near Split, where the remaining three rounds of the first part of the championship will be played. The hosts of the second part, seven rounds, are Pula and Novalja.
The opening of the club senior season in the fantastic center of KOP Vrapča, organized by the Croatian Volleyball Association, provided really great matches and almost all teams came with their strongest teams in a serious intention to fight for the position of state champion.
