After three weeks of preparation Bernardinho made a point of saying that time is exaggerated. “It was a very sloppy programming. Three weeks is a long absurd. Even with the Brazilian national team, i didn’t have three weeks of preparations for the last two Olympic Games. So we have more preparation than the Brazilian team had in 2008 and 2012.“
The coach commented on the departure of sponsors and the consequent end of some teams, claiming the necessity to seek alternatives to this problem. “We need to seek solutions. What worries me is the support of the volleyball.”
Without going into the controversy, Bernardinho also commented on the ranking of athletes. According to him, each of them is trying to gain an advantage for himself. “It’s in our culture, one wants to take advantage and do not think of what is the best for everyone. So when voting happens is hypocritical. That sucks.“
Bernardinho gave examples of how the ranking is unfair. “Last year, an episode that demonstrates this was Hooker, who had fewer points than Regiane. Mari also had seven points, which is unfair. Firstly because she is not playing, which lower her score“, added the coach.
