Jacareí was preparing to make its debut in the Superliga, but a sponsor did not appear until now which disrupts the plans of 13 players for the season 2013/14.

What will happen with Jacareí?

The athletes of the newly created team accused coach Robson Guerreiro for promising the sponsorship of “Sedex”, that on the eve of the Superliga has not yet arrived. According to the players, the coach also known as Robinho, personally invited players to the new team from the city of Paraíba Valley, in São Paulo. Former trainer of Sollys/Osasco and more recently assistant coach of the São Bernardo Vôlei, used the name of the Post office as the main partner.

Even with two months of unpaid wages and consecutive excuses that money depends on the release of public funds, after that delayed by the demonstrations across Brazil, Robinho had the cooperation of the players.  The girls attended trainings normally and decided to speak only after the coaching staff had said in an interview that they had given up the Copa São Paulo due to poor physical shape of athletes.

So, in preparation for the Copa São Paulo – tournament which opens the season of the women’s volleyball in Brazil and also serves as a test for the Superliga – the players wore their own clothes for training. To reduce suspicion, uniforms appeared an overnight, but still without the mark of the potential sponsor or even a sports equipment company.

Main star of the team, the setter Fernandinha, Olympic champion with Brazil at London 2012, of course, could not imagine this situation only one year after the Olympics and regrets having believed in a project that was not fulfilled. The athlete, who played in the last Superliga for Amil/Campinas, said she did not accept offers from other clubs, wanting to work with girls who she already knew in a pleasant environment.

“We want to play together, but unfortunately we were deceived. There are 13 athletes who did do not wanted to separate and go somewhere else to play in Superliga, are now without the sponsor. We need a savior who wants to buy this project and help us. We now don’t know what is the truth of this story with Sedex”.
