WCHU23 W: Brazilian blocking strategy made difference over Cuba (PHOTOS)

Brazil defeated Cuba 3-1 (28-26, 25-27, 25-15, 25-21) with a solid blocking performance that made the difference in third match of Pool B, played at Mexicali State Auditorium.

Captain Ellen Braga was the top scorer with 23 points (3 aces) and was followed by Francynne Jacintho (15 points, 8 block kills), Glauciele Silva (14) and Gabriella Souza (13).

For Cuba, Jennifer Alvarez scored 16 points and Rossana Giel closed with 14.

Alena Rojas scored 12 and Captain Daymara Lescay finished with 11. Service was tied for both squads (5 for Brazil, 5 for Cuba). Brazil had 17 block points and Cuba 9.
