Argentine journalist Santiago Gabari revealed that the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) made last-minute changes in the format and composition of the 2016 Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship.

The FIVB announced schedule and timetable for the tournament, few days ago, but according to Santiago Gabari from “Voley Plus”, it extended the number of teams that will participate from six to eight. And it also replaced one. Instead of the NORCECA representative (who had yet to be determined), the FIVB invited Italian Diatec Trentino. Also, the FIVB summoned two Argentinian rivals UPCN San Juan Vóley and Personal Bolívar.

If this turns out to be true, the Club World Championship in Minas, Brazil (October 19-23) will certainly last, at least, one more day.

Official confirmation is expected soon.
