In the CEV Cup’s Big Finale against Knack Roeselare, Valsa Group Modena displayed a remarkable fighting spirit and ultimately emerged as the champions.
Despite losing the previous game on their home turf in three sets, the players, led by head coach Andrea Giani, approached the second game with the right mindset and won in straight sets. Both teams had previously exchanged 3-0 wins, and the deciding Golden Set was won by the Italian team with a score of 15-9.
Adis Lagumdzija was the match top scorer with 23 points, while Pablo Kukartsev scored 19 points for the home team. Modena outperformed their opponents on attack, winning 54 spikes compared to Roeselare’s 41, and also recorded two more aces (8 to 6). However, the home squad finished with one more block, tallying up nine to Modena’s eight.
