The Polish bronze medalists Developres SkyRes Rzeszów beat Israeli side Hapoel Kfar Saba on the road by a 3-1 in the first leg of the 2018 CEV Champions League Qualifiers – 2nd round. In a battle that lasted precisely two hours, Developres were led on the field by the receiver from Belgium, Hélène Rousseaux, who scored 32 points, having 62% attack. The team from Poland made 12 aces and 12 blocks. The Brazilian Angélica Caboclo notched 16 points for Hapoel.
The Dutch side Sliedrecht Sport prevailed in a derby between the teams that come from the bordering countries as they rejected a comeback of Asterix Avo Beveren from Belgium, 3-2. Esther Hullegie topped the winners with 16 points. Celine Van Gestel made 25 for Asterix.
