Belarus, Bulgaria and Slovenia from Pool I and Germany, Turkey and Italy from Pool II, proved to be the stronger sides in their respective matches.
The biggest surprise was in the match of the home team and Russia. Bulgaria defeated Russia in the tie-break and scored 20 aces in total.
