For the first time in the history one Romanian clubwill play in the final of the European prestigious club competition and we must say that coach Darko Zakoč did a great job with his team. Alba Blaj defeated Galatasaray 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22).
Everything went well, the hosts were more motivated than Turkish team to come to the finals, but the finishing was quite uncertain. The host led 21-13 and 24-17 when Galatasaray won the five points in a row and came near 24-22. After many fights, Cleger scored bloc –out and the celebration of the Romanian team could start.
Alba Blaj did a good job by engaging Serbian players who today showed an amazing play especially Nataša Krsmanović who scored 10 points but she had 80% in attack (10-8). Tijana Malešević and Aleksandra Crnčević were good in reception while Ana Yillian Cleger Abel finished the match as the top scorer of the match with 27 points.
In Galatasaray, Dobriana Rabadzhieva finished the match as the best scorer of the team with 19 points but Cansu Çetin 9 (56%) and Sinead Jack (47%) were the most successful on the net.
