SLOVENSKÝ POHÁR: Prievidza win their first-ever trophy in Slovakian cup

VK Prievidza conquered the Slovakian men’s volleyball cup - 2017/18 Slovenský pohár.

For the first time in the club history, VK Prievidza won the national cup as they beat TJ Slávia Svidník by a 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-20) in the final at home ground.

The Brazilian outside hitter Marcilio Silva led Prievidza to the trophy with 16 points. Marcel Lux scored 13 points for Slávia.

This was the first time Slovakian men’s cup was played in the Final Six format.

VKP Bystrina SPU Nitra (former VKP Bratislava) remained the record holders in the tournament with 8 trophies.
