CZE M: Liberec becomes 3rd side to advance to playoff semis, Brno tie vs. Karlovarsko at 2-2

VK Dukla Liberec became the third semifinalist of the 2017/18 Czech men’s volleyball championship UNIQA Extraliga.

The second-seed VK Dukla Liberec kicked out No.7 VK Ostrava, s.r.o. by a 3-1 in the series of the 2017/18 Extraliga playoff quarterfinals. Game 4 ended in straight sets, partially 25-23, 25-20, 25-18.

Jan Štokr was the best scorer of Liberec with 16 points. Aleš Správka contributed with 73% reception (15 digs, 1 error, 40% excellent). Matěj Šmídl scored 13 points for Ostrava.

No.5 Volejbal Brno tied the series against No.2 ČEZ Karlovarsko at 2-2 thanks to 17 points (3 aces) from Serbian Stefan Okošanović and 79% reception from Argentinean Martín Weber (24 digs, 2 errors, 54% excellent). Ondřej Hudeček scored 12 points for Karlovarsko.

Two teams secured their places in the best-of-five semifinals earlier, No.1 VK Jihostroj České Budějovice and No.3 Kladno volejbal cz, who swept their rivals in the series.
