The US National Team head coach Karch Kiraly was immensely emotional after the final match of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics women’s volleyball tournament.
After nine years at the helm of the US National Team, Kiraly managed to form a group of players he successfully guided to the greatest success in the sporting scene – the gold medal at the Olympic Games. After his ladies swept Brazil in the final in Tokyo 2020, a 60-year-old expert shed tears while giving the post-game statement. Being asked to put the significance of this moment into words, Kiraly answered:
“I don’t know if I can. I’m just so happy for this team and these amazing women in this program. I told them not only are they badasses but they are now gold medalists!“
