After only three sets Serbia defeated Japan in their first match of the Volleyball Nations League for women in Barueri.

Serbia celebrated the big victory after 25-18, 25-17 and 25-22 although Japan had their chances in the third set in which they led until 20 points. During the match, Serbia scored 9 blocks and 7 aces while Japan put only 3 blocks and 2 aces.

Top scorers of the match: Tijana Bošković 23, Brankica Mihajlović 16, Jovana Stevanović 9, Stefana Veljković 6; Arisa Inoue 12, Sarina Koga 11, Nana Iwasaka 7, Haruyo Shimamura 4.
