After four years in VT Aurubis HAMBURG, Jean-Pierre Staelens decided to make a turn in his career and he landed in Istres. He is awaited by new challenges and explained the reasons of coming to France.
“What caught my attentinon, is that Istres intends to train its players, and invent them, rather than importing them and making a team solely on money” Staelens said.
He also explained his understanding of volleyball.
“Never give up, defend well, and take joy in what you do. This is a way to climb to the top and bring audience to the hall.“
Bearing in mind that Staelens won seven league titles in Belgium, eight Cups, best player trophy in 1983, was 11 years in the national team, he must know what he speaks of.
