Beating Mulhouse tonight with a score of 3-1 in Game 3 of the 2021/22 Ligue A Féminine, Volero Le Cannet won the series of the playoff finals 3-0 to clinch their first title of French club champions since the merger between Swiss Volero Zürich and French Le Cannet in 2018.

Le Cannet didn’t miss the first opportunity that showed up in front of them to take the trophy. After prevailing in the first two matches of the finals at home, the club based in the Côte d’Azur wasn’t afraid of the sold-out hall of Mulhouse that had close to 4,000 spectators in its stands. The first in the regular season, Le Cannet have lost only 3 matches in the 2021/22 French Championship and have remained undefeated since mid-February.

Cuban Heidy Casanova had yet another big performance in the playoffs, scoring 26 points for the newly promoted titleholders. Thus, Le Cannet claimed the ’double crown’ this season – the national cup and the championship.
