Denise Hanke literally stood out in the prelims and turned into the best server of the competition by registering a total of 25 aces in six matches. With this figure, she stands well above the second best player in this special category, Australian Rachel Rourke, who charted 18 while representing Poland’s Atom Trefl SOPOT. Additionally, Quinta Steenbergen was ranked third among the best spikers with her teammate Anja Brandt finishing in fifth place to confirm the consistency and real quality of the group.
However, the team knows that they will have to step up the quality of their play if they want to make it to the Playoffs 6 as in the next round of the competition they will cross their ways with Italy’s Unendo Yamamay BUSTO ARSIZIO, winner of last year’s CEV Volleyball Cup and the absolute dominant force in the Italian domestic arena.
