Allianz MTV Stuttgart ended a dry spell in the German Women’s Volleyball Cup, clearly defeating Dresdner SC in 2022 final in Wiesbaden.
The players of Stuttgart have won the 2021/22 DVV-Pokal Frauen. The undefeated Bundesliga leader won the relocated (from Mannheim to Wiesbaden) and postponed final match against Dresdner 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-15). The gold medal encounter, originally planned for March 6, was moved to today due to a corona outbreak in the Dresden team and a 3-week quarantine. Following a demonstration of power, Stuttgart won the competition for the 4th time after 2011, 2015, and 2017.
American Simone Lee was the top scorer on the winning side with 20 points and was also named MVP. Bulgarian Mira Todorova set up as many as 7 blocks.
