Maren Brinker, the outside hitter/receiver from Italian Metalleghe Sanitars Montichiari is the best female player, while the setter Lukas Kampa from the Polish Cerrad Czarni Radom is the best male player in Germany.
Since it was known which players were a competition to these two, this choice may come as a surprise.
Brinker left behind second placed Margareta Kozuch and Mareen Apitz. Kampa was better than György Grozer and Jochen Schöps.
