VfB Friedrichshafen improved their record in Bundesliga to 17-0 (51 points) as they beat the third-placed United Volleys Rhein-Main (11-5; 30 points) in four sets in advanced Round 22 game, partially 25-22, 25-19, 16-25, 25-21). At the same time, the side coached by Vital Heynen sealed No.1 for the playoffs.

No.2 Berlin Recycling Volleys (12-4; 37 points) did their best to stay in contention for the top-seed, but their straight-set win against Bergische Volleys in postponed Round 11 game turned to be in vain. The team from the German capital made 82% reception as a team. Robert Kromm (92%, 12 digs) and Australian libero Luke Perry (78%, 9 digs) stood out individually in this segment. The Canadian Graham Vigrass topped BR Volleys with 12 points. Australian Paul Carroll made 4 kill blocks, while Egor Bogachev served 4 aces. The Finnish Ossi Rumpunen scored 10 points for Bergische Volleys, whose libero Oliver Gies made 75% reception (16 digs, 1 error).

Thanks to 18 points (4 kill blocks, 78% attack) from the Pole Igor Oskar Grobelny and 4 kill blocks from the Brazilian Douglas Silva, Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching beat Netzhoppers SolWo Königspark KW by a 3-1 to remain at No.4 (10-6; 28 points). Note that top six teams in the regular season will advance directly to the playoff quarterfinals.
