Title favorites No.2 Berlin Recycling Volleys pulled themselves together in Game 3 to close the 2017/18 Bundesliga playoff quarterfinals against No.7 SVG Lüneburg with a 2-1. BR Volleys scored a straight-set win in Game 3, partially 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.
The Australian Paul Carroll was the top scorer on the winning side with 19 points. The American Cody Kessel and Canadian Raymond Szeto scored 12 points apiece for Lüneburg. Noah Baxpöhler added 4 kill blocks.
The third-seed United Volleys Rhein-Main and fifth-seed Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching also closed their respective series with a 2-1 and moved to the best-of-three semis.
