Allianz Milano ran over vice-champions Sir Safety Conad Perugia in an advanced match of the 2019/20 Italian Men’s Volleyball Championship regular season!

Milano

Milano have won their second match in the 2019/20 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season and kept the perfect record. This victory was huge knowing that they beat one of the title contenders Perugia on the road and in straight sets: 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-22)!

Perugia head coach Heynen gave the chance to backups Russo and Plotnytskyi from the start of the match but changed them in the second set as it was visible that Milano play on a high level. Visitors, deprived of the help from Piano until the end of the season due to ACL injury, were powered by mesmerizing Dutch opposite hitter Nimir Abdel-Aziz. He delivered 26 points (9 in the first set), which is surreal output for a three-set game! Wilfredo León scored 16 points for Perugia.

3-0 is suprising but the win by Milano is not.
Perugia did nothing to improve in the offseason except start with tired players.
Lube is worse with the massive loss of Sokolov.
Modena is improved and fresh and exciting.
Trentino is the ‘watermark’ this year for sure. 3 elite outsides in their prime and every player healthier than last year.

The torch will be past
