The Italian Women’s Cup (Coppa Italia A1) will have the new owners of the trophy! Saugella Monza made a stunt and eliminated last year’s winners and reigning European champions Igor Gorgonzola Novara, beating them on their ground: 3-1 (12-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-20). The most recent reinforcement of Monza, American prospect Kathryn Plummer, was the most deserving player for the advancement of her team to the Final 4 as she poured in 15 points. Serbian Jovana Brakočević Canzian scored 12 points for Novara.
The hosts of the final tournament Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio as well as other 2 favorites, Imoco Volley Conegliano and Savino Del Bene Scandicci, had no troubles against their rivals in the quarterfinals.
