WCHJ W: Italy defeats Algeria in straight sets

The second match at Vodova hall on Monday was one of the fastest game of the whole World Championship. World Champions Italy had no problems at all against Algeria, an opponent who proudly attempt until the very last ball to slow down the Europeans’ charge. The 3-0 win raises the position of "Azzurre", with 7 point in the standings of Pool D.

The numbers of points scored by the Italian middle-blocker Laura Melandri (18) shows clearly Italy’s domain: her setters Giulia Carraro and Chiara Scacchetti could easily manage the passing from their receivers’ line, offering her precious balls at the net.

Algeria’s Celia Bourihane was among the best of her team, eventually being the best scorer with a small loot of 5 points.
