“There aren’t any like you no more” sing the fans to their captain Goran Vujevic who just turned 41. He was named MVP of the game in Perugia’s victory over Ravenna. This was the fourth win in a row for Kovac’s boys. Nine aces scored, three from Atanasijevic, and 9 blocks with Semenzato standing out with 4.

Perugia – Ravenna

SIR SAFETY PERUGIA – CMC RAVENNA 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-12)

Simone Buti (Sir Safety Perugia): “Ravenna is a good team, this game was tricky. But we had a great performance, when we play like that  at home it becomes very tough for anyone. It was important to grab a victory to prepare ourselves for Saturday. The Italian Cup final four? The semi-final is already a final for us. We will play with determination, we’ll give everything we have and just see what happens”.

Stefano Mengozzi (CMC Ravenna): “Perugia got off to a great start on the serve, both with jump and float serve. They played at a high rhythm and physically dominated us at the net. We lost confidence, and in the third set I don’t know what happened. They deserved to win, while we might have paid the price for the many games played in just a few days. We must not put our heads down, we have to immediately focus on the next one”.
