Cuban-Italian male volleyball star Osmany Juantorena is playing his last season in Italy.
In an interview for La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juantorena revealed his plans for the next season. Unfortunately for the fans of Cucine Lube Civitanova for whose club he has been competing since 2015, but also for the fans of other clubs in Italy which hoped Cuban-Italian will move to, he said that he is going to play in Asia.
“I came up with the idea of leaving (Lube) at the end of the season. I’m tired, it’s not easy to find the reasons. I won everything,“ the 36-year-old outside hitter said, adding that even though he has a valid contract with Lube for one more year, he decided this together with the club and that he would never play for any other club in Italy than Lube.
To a question where would he like to go, Juantorena answered: “Maybe in Asia. Japan or China, we’ll see.”
