Piacenza have parted ways with head coach Bernardi, despite all denials. The ’Wolves’ announcement came two days after progressing to the Final Four of the Italian Cup (3-2 against WithU Verona).

Bernardi, the title-winning expert with Sir Safety Susa Perugia and Turkey’s Halkbank before that, has been at the helm of Piacenza since 2020, being one of the forces the club relied upon after the restructuring of the organization in 2018 out of Volley Piacenza. There were rumors recently of Bernardi’s disagreement with sports director Hristo Zlatanov because Piacenza’s results in the SuperLega weren’t on par with the squad’s offseason investment (fifth in the league rankings).
