Piccinini and Prime Minister
The Italian delegation was led by the President of the Italian Volleyball Federation Carlo Magri and President of the Italian Olympic Commitee Giovanni Malagò and consisted of the coach Marco Bonitta and players Francesca Piccinini, Raphaela Folie, Valentina Diouf, Cristina Chirichella, Noemi Signorile, Sara Bonifacio, Paola Cardullo, Ofelia Malinov and Paola Egonu, accompanied by some staff members.
During the speech very nice words has been said by the Prime Minister, who thanked the national team for the great emotions given away for their country during the recent World Championship.
Renzi stressed that Italy, even though not succeeding to get on the podium, has won the „medal of affection“ by all the people who passionately followed the World Championship.
At the end of the event, the captain of the national team Francesca Piccinini gave Renzi the official ball of WCH Italy 2014 and two Italian national team jerseys: one with the name Matteo and the other one with the name of his wife Agnese.
