“I had the opportunity to choose Russian citizenship, when I still did not have Italian, but I was in Italy, had to finish school there, so I refused. And now my sports nationality does not make sense. I’m Italian, I play for the Italian national team, and I will always defend the colors, emblem and a flag of this country” – said Zaytsev and put a story, that he will play for Russia, to an end.
