One of the greatest legends of Italian volleyball, Vigor Bovolenta, might soon get a street named after him.

The idea came from a website “SportinRomagna” (sportinromagna.com) and is already active on the well-known international online petition site change.org.

A petition is asking the Mayors of the cities Ravenna and Forlì to name a street after Vigor Bovolenta, two-time European champions and four-time World League winner with Italy’s National Team, who passed away on March 24, 2012 at the age of 37. He had severe coronary artery disease.

The reason why petition was directed to the Mayors of Ravenna and Forlì was that Bovolenta started his professional career in the club from Ravenna (today’s name CMC Romagna, Serie A1) and ended it in the club from Forlì (today’s name Softer Volley Forlì, Division 4).

The petition is located at this link.
